Executive Cyber Governance Training with Adili Group and ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna

Cybersecurity is now a leadership and governance priority, not just an IT issue.

On Friday 27/03, we had the pleasure of organising “Executive Cyber Governance” Training at ALN Kenya, in partnership with Adili Group, bringing together experts and business leaders for a timely discussion on cybersecurity, governance, and organisational resilience.

The session made one message particularly clear : cybersecurity is no longer only an IT issue, it is a business and leadership priority. As cyber threats become more sophisticated, organisations must look beyond technical tools and focus equally on governance, culture, and preparedness.

A central theme of the discussion was the human factor. While companies continue to invest in advanced security systems, many incidents still begin with phishing, social engineering, weak credentials, or poor internal controls. In that sense, the person behind the screen remains one of the most important elements of any organisation’s defence.

Speakers also highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in cybercrime. AI is enabling threat actors to prepare more convincing phishing campaigns, gather intelligence faster, and scale attacks more efficiently. This evolution is forcing organisations to rethink how they manage digital risk, train teams, and govern the use of AI internally.

Another key takeaway was the importance of training and behavioural change. Effective cybersecurity requires continuous awareness-building across all levels of the organisation, from employees to executive leadership. Incident response plans must also be tested regularly through simulations and practical exercises to ensure teams know how to react when an attack occurs.

The conference further emphasised that cyber governance is a shared responsibility. Boards must put cyber risk on the agenda, leadership teams must define clear accountability, and organisations must create a culture where employees feel able to report suspicious activity quickly and without hesitation.

We thank Adili Group, ALN Kenya, all speakers, and participants for contributing to a rich and insightful discussion on one of the most pressing issues facing organisations today.
