Navigating Kenya's Evolving Tax Landscape Finance Act 2026, eTIMS & Tax Risk Management in the Digital Era with Ebrahimjee & Mutai Advisory LLP

Kenya’s tax environment is becoming increasingly digital, data-driven and proactive - is your business keeping up?
This morning, the French Chamber of Commerce in Kenya, in partnership with our member EMA Advisory LLP, hosted an insightful webinar on Navigating Kenya’s Evolving Tax Landscape: Finance Act 2026, eTIMS & Tax Risk Management in the Digital Era.
Led by Nahashon M., and James Ngige, the session explored how businesses can adapt to Kenya’s evolving tax administration framework and strengthen their approach to compliance and tax risk management.
Some of the key takeaways included:
- Tax compliance is shifting from reactive to proactive. With transaction data increasingly being transmitted digitally, businesses need to continuously monitor their tax position rather than wait until the end of the year.
- eTIMS is changing how businesses manage tax records. Sales and purchase data increasingly feeds into the tax administration system, making the accuracy and consistency of underlying transaction records more critical than ever.
- Data-driven compliance is becoming the new reality. Businesses need to ensure that their accounting records, invoices, declarations and supporting documentation are aligned and accurate.
- Digitalisation brings both opportunities and risks. As tax administration becomes more technology-driven, businesses should strengthen their internal controls and regularly review their compliance processes to identify potential gaps early.
- Tax compliance is increasingly a business risk management issue, requiring closer collaboration between finance, tax, accounting and leadership teams.
A sincere thank you to Nahashon Mwangi, James Ngige and the entire Ebrahimjee & Mutai Advisory LLP team for sharing their expertise and practical insights with our members and partners.
Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning and contributed to the discussion through your questions and engagement.
We look forward to continuing to create platforms that help businesses stay informed and prepared as Kenya’s regulatory and business environment evolves.
