French Week Day#5:Impact and CSR ;Human Capital Matters

We wrapped up French Week Nairobi 2023!

On 17th November 2023, we close the curtains on an enriching 5-day French Week journey, our focus on Day 5 was on impactful CSR strategies and human capital development. Key industry players shared insights:


- Carlotta Dal Lago, Head of Business Development, Marketing, and Communications, ALN Kenya, presented the FlipFlopi project, which addresses carbon emissions by turning plastic waste into boats in Lamu.
- Christophe Orset, Regional Director, MAF Carrefour, emphasized Kenyan inclusion in management, gender balance, and job provision to combat poverty.
- Denis Saint Marie, Head of Cooperation and Cultural Affairs Department, French Embassy, highlighted projects for women empowerment, spanning education, health, feminism, and GBV fight.
- Shalom Magoma, Kenya Country Projects Coordinator, Acted, and discussed water and sanitation provision in drought-prone areas for green energy accessibility and poverty reduction.
- Constance Fromont, Founder, of Roots Centre Institute, focused on providing education in Kosovo,Mathare to alleviate poverty.

A panel discussion, led by Caroline Englund, Founder, Empactive Solutions, and Rosa-Nduati Mutero, Managing Partner, of ALN Kenya, explored the significance of investing in Human Capital. Key takeaways included empathy, energy release, shaping culture, employee care, intentionality, and structured mentorship.
