French Week Day#4:Investment Day

We successfully concluded day four of French Week!

It’s a wrap for #Day4 of the French Week, Investment Day! with an informative event dedicated to new opportunities and trends in the investment space!

Thank you to H.E. Arnaud Suquet, Ambassador of France to Kenya, for opening the event and honoring us with your presence. During his remarks, our guest of honor Stephen Odua, Director of Private Sector Development in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives, insisted Kenya remains the most attractive destination for investors in East Africa.


Njeri Wagacha, Partner at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr, echoed him with a presentation showing a positive deviation of investment in the East Africa Region, led by Kenya. This was supported by Ronald Meru, Chairman of Trade and Economic Diplomacy at the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who insisted on the importance of strengthening the Kenya-France ties through investment.

Alex Kanyi, Partner at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr led our first panel session on Investment opportunities in Kenya. Comprising of Agathe Roudot, Export Trade Advisor at Business France, Mourad Chouiqa, Head, Eastern and Southern Africa at BPI France, Frank Ndiyo, Investment Director at Amethis, Pius K. Rotich, General Manager Investment Promotion & Business Development Services at KenInvest, and Jorsen
Patten, COO East Africa operations at IBL, shared their experiences and discussed the attractiveness of the business environment in Kenya, as well as winning investment strategies and key sectors of interest for French investors.


Led by our Executive Director, Laure Paugam, the second-panel discussion brought together AudreyMaignan, Regional Director East Africa at Proparco, Hella Bennani, Specialist at IFC ESG Advisory Services, Pierre Fauvet, Managing Director Africa at Creadev and Dennis Keya, Country Manager Kenya at EDF. Discussing bridging profit and purpose, the panelists explained their impactful investment strategies and shared their views on private sector responsibility to achieve the SDGs.
