"French Up Your Career" Mombasa Job Fair
Highlights from our "French Up Your Career" Job Fair in Mombasa, connecting local talent with global companies!
The inaugural edition of the "French Up Your Career" Job Fair brought vibrant energy, connections, and valuable career opportunities to Mombasa.
Held at Alliance Française de Mombasa as part of UN tourism week, the event was organized in partnership with the French Embassy in Kenya, the FCCK, and Alliance Française de Mombasa. The fair brought together young professionals and students from 8 universities and 8 high schools to meet with French and international companies, demonstrating how French language proficiency and multilingual skills open doors across diverse industries.
The day featured four panel discussions exploring how coastal youth can transition from academic degrees to careers:
Multilingual advantage: how French and language skills expand career opportunities.
Classroom to career: navigating the transition beyond academia into professional life.
Tourism: enhancing the visitor experience for French-speaking tourists.
Coastal economic growth: exploring Mombasa’s emerging job markets and careers beyond traditional tourism.
Key takeaways and event highlights:
Curiosity drives success: a recurring insight across all panel discussions was that curiosity and continuous learning remain essential drivers of career growth.
Direct access to employers: on-site interviews, Q&A sessions, and networking resulted in immediate career leads and tangible opportunities for attendees.
Cross-sector collaboration: the initiative brought together key corporate, institutional, and community partners.
