Benefits and Implications of Recent IP Developments in Kenyan Law with CDH

On Wednesday, we were happy to organize a webinar on the implications of recent development of the Anti-Counterfeit Recordation of Intellectual Property Rights. Our members, CDH's Shem Otanga, partnered with a speaker from the ACA, Casper Oluoch to reveal several new provisions to this ongoing legislation, notably, the new recordation requirements, certifications and powers the ACA will obtain.

By having both a private law firm and an ACA affiliate on the panel, we offered a contextual perspective on the IPR Recordation laws, assessing the trade-offs and the bigger picture for the participants. Covering the specifics of the requirements to register for importing goods in Kenya, our panelists gave great insight on what elements are necessary for the approval and renewal of ACA's certification mark.
