The French Development Agency (AFD) Group funds, supports and accelerates the transition to a fairer and more sustainable world. AFD carries out more than 4,200 projects in France’s overseas departments and territories and another 150 countries. AFD's East Africa office is based in Nairobi and covers 11 countries in the region. Historically focused on infrastructure, energy, public services and urban development, AFD’s activity in East Africa has been extended to human services, governance and digital technology. In Kenya since 1997, AFD has supported the country in financing low-carbon infrastructure, promoting access to essential services, particularly in urban areas, supporting public policies through the private sector, and protecting the country's biodiversity.
Proparco is a subsidiary of the AFD Group focused on private sector development. It has been promoting sustainable economic, social and environmental development for over 45 years. Proparco provides funding and support to both businesses and financial institutions. Its operations aim to strengthen the contribution of private players to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Proparco's operations in East Africa started in 1997.
Breakfast will be served from 7.30 am until 8.15 am.
