Breakfast Meeting: Regional Macroeconomic Update with the Regional Economic Service (French Embassy)

.On 29th September, we had the pleasure of having Jerome Baconin, head of the Regional Economic Service in East Africa and the Indian Ocean, for a Regional Macroeconomic Update.

During this presentation, Jerome gave an overview of the current economic situation in the region, and an insight into East African countries. Noting the deteriorating trend, the speaker highlighted some of the contributing factors to this situation; inflation, regional debt, currency fluctuations and the COVID-19 pandemic among others.

The breakfast meeting took place at Ibis Styles Hotel, part of our founding member Groupe Accor, and was patronized by both our members and non-members. Many thanks to all in attendance, to Ibis Styles Hotel and to the Regional Economic Service of the French Embassy.
